The test winner with a killer flat rate
EasyUsenet - Everything easy?
EasyUsenet is a Dutch Usenet provider known for its very flexible and affordable tariffs. The product range has now been expanded to include a very reasonably priced flat rate. We have tested the Usenet underdog to see whether the promises can be kept or whether there is a catch.

Speed
9.6
EasyUsenet delivers an outstanding result in the speed comparison. The test downloads from SBZnzbd can almost continuously utilize the 1,000 Mbit line used up to the theoretical maximum.
As a result, Easyusenet permanently achieves over 100 MB/s in the test series, with only Usenext performing slightly better.

Services
9.4
Although EasyUsenet does not offer a free trial account like Usenext, it does offer a 3-day trial account for 1.99€. This allows you to test the provider extensively before entering into a longer commitment.
EasyUsenet allows you to pay with almost anything you can think of: PayPal, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Direct Banking, Prezelewy24 or iDeal. With cryptocurrencies, EasyUsenet fulfills the wishes of many users, which we would also like to see more often with other providers.
Of course, EasyUsenet offers strong 256-bit SSL encryption. Unfortunately, EasyUsenet only has 40 simultaneous connections in the test, so there is still room for improvement here.
Customer support
8.9
EasyUsenet can only be reached via email, we miss other contact options, e.g. support via telephone or social media, which is also available at Usenext.
However, our test inquiries were answered at lightning speed: it took 15 minutes and once even just 9 minutes for us to receive an answer! Faster e-mail support is probably not possible, unfortunately it is only available during regular working hours on weekdays.
We really liked the help section, disguised as a small “chatbot”, which provides assistance with the most frequently asked questions about newsreaders, error messages and membership.
Price-performance ratio
9.8
EasyUsenet offers two subscriptions with different terms (monthly, yearly). Both tariffs are unlimited flat rates, which means there are no restrictions on data consumption. The annual package costs €3.98, while the monthly subscription costs €5.98.
The flat rate package for €3.98 is therefore our price-performance winner at January. EasyUsenet also scores top marks in the other categories.
Particularly attractive for those who don’t want to take out a subscription: EasyUsenet offers additional prepaid tariffs with 1-, 6- or 12-month terms, unfortunately a rarity in the business.
For all those who are unsure, EasyUsenet also offers a 3-day trial version for 1.99€. This means that Usenet access can be fully tested in advance for 3 days before committing to the provider for longer.
Conclusion on EasyUsenet
EasyUsenet is convincing across the board with its low-cost flat rate offers and flexible prepaid tariffs. The flat-rate tariff for just €3.98 per month works perfectly throughout without any loss of performance. Downloads are extremely fast, as is the response time from customer service. With the 3-day trial version for €1.99 and crypto as a payment method, the small provider can even set itself apart from the competition. EasyUsenet is only unable to play in the top league because it only offers 40 connections, but this should not be a problem for most users.
